Freedom to ACT: 2018
Conference on Acting & the Alexander Technique
January 5-7th, 2018 - New York, NY
Developed by: Belinda Mello and Ann Rodiger
Join us for the 7th year of Freedom to Act. We are pleased to offer workshops, presentations, and lively discussions with familiar and new presenters. The conference includes a performance and brunch on Sunday, January 7.
The Actor’s Preparation: Building Roles and Daily Practice
When preparing for a role or for an audition, the Alexander Technique is an important tool for actors to bring into rehearsal, performance and daily life.
Actors rely on Alexander Technique to support them in releasing blocks and in building varied and risky characters. For their own well-being Actors use AT to develop resilience in body, breath and imagination.
This conference is for actors who are curious about the Alexander Technique and want to deepen their connection to this work. For those who teach, coach and support performing artists, this conference is designed to inform, inspire, and provide community.
